Monash Website Redesign

Redesigning the Monash website to improve structure, navigation, and clarity while creating a more intuitive and streamlined user experience.

This Capstone project focuses on reimagining the digital experience of Monash University’s Mobility Design Lab (MDL), a research hub shaping the future of mobility. Despite MDL’s innovative work, its previous website lacked clarity, engagement, and strong storytelling to communicate a decade of achievements. Our redesign introduces a human-centered digital ecosystem that improves visibility, enables exploration of mobility innovations, and fosters collaboration between students, researchers, and industry partners.

Problem: MDL’s existing website did not reflect its forward-thinking research and offered limited access to the lab’s impactful projects. Users struggled to navigate the site, understand what MDL does, and discover opportunities to connect or contribute. Research confirmed low awareness, 70% of students had never heard of MDL, and high demand for interactive content and storytelling to better showcase innovation.

Solution: We designed a future-ready platform that highlights MDL’s stories through interactive discovery. New features such as Co-Lab Mobility empower communities to co-create mobility concepts, while Presentation Mode supports event-ready showcasing of projects. A redesigned timeline, clear navigation, and immersive visuals make the research both accessible and inspiring, turning real user insights into a compelling digital experience.

Project Goals: Our goal was to redefine research engagement by transforming MDL’s online presence into a dynamic and narrative-driven platform. We aimed to increase visibility, enhance user understanding, and provide new interaction pathways ,ensuring that students and collaborators can easily explore innovations, find insights, and feel invited into MDL’s forward-looking community.
